2009 Memorial Day Weekend with the Screaming Eagles

 

Join the National Capital Area Chapter of the 101^st Airborne/Air Assault Division Association in commemorating our comrades and socializing with each other

 

Friday, May 22 1:15 PM    

 

                                    Division Association wreath will be laid at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery

                           3 PM

Saturday, May 23      10 AM

 

                                    Bus leaves the hotel for the National Mall. 

                                    Division Association wreaths will be laid at the WW II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial and the Vietnam Wall.

                                    Informal lunch on return to hotel.

                                    Hospitality Suite open after lunch.

 

Sunday, May 24        11 AM           

                                    Laying of wreaths at the101^st Division Memorial.

                                    Note: Washington Blvd. will be closed between I-395 (Shirley Hwy) and Memorial Bridge beginning at 8 AM for Rolling Thunder

12:30 PM        Luncheon, followed by speakers TBD

                                    Hospitality Suite open after lunch

 

Monday, May 25       1 PM              

                                    Assembly for the Memorial Day Parade, which starts at 2 PM.  We will assemble on the Mall near the south end (near 7^th St.) of the Air and Space Museum.  Look for the Eagles and the Cameros!  The nearest Metro station is L’Enfant Plaza – cross Independence Ave. and walk down 7^th St. to the Mall (Jefferson Dr.) and look to the right. You can also be dropped off at the north end of the Mall on 4^th St., from where you can walk to the assembly area. The parade will go down Constitution Ave. and end at 17^th St. (that’s the street with the WW II Memorial).
